Real-Time Sync

When you add, edit, or delete an event in Google Calendar, Calendox is notified straight away — no delays, no background polling. Your changes appear on connected calendars within seconds. Calendox also automatically refreshes its connection to Google in the background, so your sync stays live without any action from you.

Personal Gmail & Google Workspace

Both personal @gmail.com accounts and Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) organizations are fully supported. Import your primary calendar, any secondary calendars you've created, and shared Workspace calendars you can edit. Calendox lists every calendar in your Google account, but read-only calendars, such as view-only shares or public holiday calendars, can't be imported.

Recurring Events & Exceptions

Repeating events sync just as you'd expect — the whole series, individual occurrences, and one-off edits. If you move a single occurrence of a weekly meeting to a different time, Calendox carries that change across to the connected calendar without touching any of the other occurrences.

Calendar Sync FAQ

How does Calendox connect to Google Calendar?

Calendox uses Google's official OAuth 2.0 flow and requests only calendar-related scopes plus basic profile information — never Gmail, Google Drive, or Contacts. Your Google password is never shared with or stored by Calendox — authentication is handled entirely by Google's servers.

What Google Calendar scopes does Calendox request?

Calendox requests basic profile scopes (openid, userinfo.email, userinfo.profile) to identify your account, calendar.readonly and calendar.calendarlist to list your calendars, and calendar.events to read and write event data. If you enable Google Meet as a meeting provider, meetings.space.created is additionally requested to generate Meet links. We never request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Contacts, or any other Google service beyond calendars. The full list is documented in our OAuth permissions docs.

Which Google calendars can I import?

Calendox lists every calendar in your Google account, and you can import any calendar you can edit: your primary calendar, secondary calendars you've created, and calendars others have shared with you with permission to make changes — including shared Workspace calendars. Read-only calendars, such as ones shared with you as view-only or subscribed calendars like public holidays, are listed but can't be imported. Each calendar is treated as an independent member in Calendox, so you can sync them individually.

How fast does Google Calendar sync?

Near-instant. When you save a change in Google Calendar, Google notifies Calendox within seconds, so there's no polling schedule to wait on. The full end-to-end sync — from your Google event change appearing on a connected calendar — typically completes in under 30 seconds.

Does Calendox support Google Workspace shared calendars?

Yes, as long as you can edit them. On Google Workspace you can import and sync shared team or department calendars you have permission to make changes to; calendars you can only view can't be imported. Google Workspace doesn't have a tenant-level admin consent flow like Microsoft 365 — each user authorizes Calendox with their own Google account individually.

What happens if Calendox loses access to my Google account?

Calendox refreshes its access to Google automatically in the background. If access is revoked — for example, you removed Calendox from your Google Account's third-party access, or a Workspace administrator blocked it — the calendar stops syncing and Calendox emails you to reconnect. Reconnecting restores access without touching your syncs.

How does Calendox prevent synced events from looping?

Calendox tags every event it creates with internal sync metadata and checks that metadata before processing any incoming change — so an event Calendox created is never synced back again. A second, independent guard also detects events that were already mirrored between your calendars by another sync tool. Together these prevent cascading sync loops even when multiple sync tools are active.
