Create Your First Sync

Step-by-step guide to setting up a calendar sync in Calendox.

A sync automatically mirrors events from one or more source calendars into one or more target calendars. This guide walks through creating a simple one-way sync.

Prerequisites

At least two calendars imported in Calendox — see Connect Google Calendar or Connect Microsoft Calendar.

Steps

1. Go to Calendar Sync

In the dashboard, click Sync in the sidebar.

2. Click "Create Sync"

Click the + Create Sync button in the top right corner.

3. Choose sync type and name

Give your sync a label, then select One-way (events flow from source → target only) or Multi-way (all calendars stay mutually in sync). A live preview on the right shows how each mode works.

4. Select calendars

Choose which imported calendars to include in this sync. Both your Google and Outlook calendars appear here.

5. Configure sync properties

Choose which event fields to copy (title, description, participants, location, meeting link), pick a clone identifier label, and set event color. Click Submit to create the sync.

What happens next

  • Events from the source calendar appear in the target calendar within a few seconds of the initial sync completing.
  • New events, edits, and deletions in the source are reflected in the target in real time.
  • The sync status changes from Pending to Completed once the initial copy finishes.

Troubleshooting

  • If the sync stays in Pending for more than a few minutes, check the sync status guide for diagnostic steps.
  • If a calendar doesn't appear as selectable, it may already be in use by another sync — a calendar can only belong to one sync at a time. Remove it from the existing sync first if you want to use it in a new one.
  • New connected calendars and active syncs both count against your plan's limits. If you're on the Free plan or have used up your trial, see Plans and billing.
