Questions
How is Calendox different from SyncThemCalendars?
SyncThemCalendars says it does calendar sync only, while Calendox also offers booking pages and a unified calendar on Personal and Business plans, and team administration on Business. For Microsoft 365, Calendox Enterprise accounts run admin-managed sync between tenants, where SyncThemCalendars describes per-user sync across tenants. Both products copy events one-way or both ways between Google and Microsoft calendars.
How do the two products count plan limits?
SyncThemCalendars limits only syncs, each linking one pair of calendars, while Calendox limits both connected calendars and syncs, and one Calendox sync can span several calendars.
- SyncThemCalendars: 5, 16 or 36 syncs by plan, each one-way or two-way between one pair of calendars, and unlimited calendars on every plan, per its pricing.
- Calendox: Basic, Standard and Premium allow 2, 5 or 25 connected calendars and 2, 5 or 25 syncs. A single multi-way sync can include two or more calendars, each from a different Google or Microsoft account, and a single one-way sync can copy one source calendar into one or more targets. Each calendar can be in only one Calendox sync.
Because a sync means something different in each product, compare plans by the calendars you want to keep in step. Plans and billing lists each Calendox plan's limits, and the pricing page has current prices.
Can one Calendox sync keep more than two calendars in step?
Yes. A multi-way sync treats every calendar in it as both source and target: add, change or delete an event in one, and the change reaches the rest. Each calendar in it must come from a different Google or Microsoft account. Multi-way sync is on every plan and in the trial, and each calendar in the sync counts toward your plan's connected-calendar limit.
Which Calendox features go beyond calendar sync?
The unified calendar and booking pages, on every Personal and Business plan:
- Unified calendar. All your Google and Microsoft calendars in one color-coded calendar, with six views from Agenda to Year. New events and edits made there go straight back to the Google or Microsoft calendar they belong to. See how the unified calendar works.
- Booking pages. Public scheduling pages that check your availability across all your connected calendars and create each booking on a calendar you choose. A booking can get a Google Meet or Microsoft Teams link where the destination calendar supports it, or a Zoom link once you connect Zoom. It can also have a phone, address or custom location. You get 2 pages on Basic and unlimited pages on Standard and Premium (fair-use limits apply). See how booking pages work.
Enterprise accounts don't include the unified calendar or booking pages.
Can a team share a Calendox subscription?
Yes, with a Business account. Admins invite members, buy seats on one or more plans and assign each member a license. The team's subscriptions belong to the team rather than to any one admin. Each licensed member connects their own calendars and runs their own syncs, within their license's plan limits.
Until the team subscribes, members need no license: each one syncs on their own trial. Once the team subscribes, each member needs a license, and a member without one has their syncs paused until an admin assigns one. SyncThemCalendars plans are each for 1 user, per its pricing.
How does Calendox sync calendars between Microsoft 365 tenants?
Through an Enterprise account: an administrator of each tenant consents once for the whole Microsoft 365 organization, so employees never sign in. The Calendox admin then imports and pairs calendars from a tenant dashboard.
- Calendars from the first tenant you connect, the master tenant, are free. Each secondary-tenant calendar you import takes one seat.
- A sync needs at least two connected tenants.
- Calendox pairs calendars on its own only when the email username and the calendar name both match. You pair the rest by hand or by CSV import.
- Only Microsoft 365 tenants can be connected this way.
SyncThemCalendars describes per-user cross-tenant sync, where each person connects their own account in each tenant. For what Microsoft 365 can share between tenants without a sync tool, read our guide to tenant-to-tenant calendar sharing and sync.
Do Calendox syncs keep running after the trial?
Only with a subscription. If the trial ends before you subscribe, your syncs pause. Calendar connections and settings are kept, events already synced stay in your calendars, and the syncs resume once you subscribe. On Business, a member's paused syncs restart when they are assigned a license from the team's subscription.
